Five Things to Check Before You Order Paper

1. Size
Letter, legal or ledger. Check before ordering. “The normal one” is not a size.
2. Weight
Standard copy paper and premium business paper are not interchangeable if the document matters. Use the lighter stock for routine work and heavier stock when there is a reason.
3. Quantity
Order what you use. If you keep running out, increase the reorder point. If cases sit unopened for six months, stop buying like the building is under siege.
4. Printer compatibility
Make sure the printer can handle the paper, especially heavier or specialty stock. This is faster than discovering the answer through a jam.
5. Delivery details
Address, floor, receiving hours, contact person. A perfect order sent to a locked loading dock is still a bad order.
That is the list. You may now return to work.
